but...i don't know how to make a layout XD i only know how to add/change my headers then i just modify the colors of my layout style to match it...the only one i know is "flexible squares"
for the size, i think 900px in width would be fine because that's what most people ask me for when they request headers XD your background will be black right? should i make your header background black too...that way it looks seamless and clean :} let me know hun^^
